Captain's Blog: Mission Mudroom

Well, I packed it in for most of the winter, but I just couldn't stay idle for long. After finishing the staining and sealing of the barn doors, the weather started to warm up. We noticed a trail of paw prints and dirt specs from the garage door through the kitchen....soooooooo.

The official next project has begun...the Lauchard mudroom. It will take some brains and brawn, but I think we have it under control now that I have a helper. Stay tuned for updates on the progress!

Bean Bytes: Bath Time!

Well, I can't say that it's the best thing in the world, but what do I know with all of my 2 months experience? Bath time seems pretty nice and relaxing for sure.

Dos Birthday Dinners!

Mom, Jerrie and Jack brought over some very thoughtful birthday gifts for Lacey and I's birthdays. A great recipe and all the ingredients! We dove right in and whipped up a Bobby Flay special! Shrimp with roasted tomato chipotle cocktail sauce. It was awesome! Thanks guys!

Mom's Memos: Mackenzie's Baby Shower!

Kate and I threw a baby shower for Mackenzie...YAY! High-kick! It was great seeing all the girls and getting out of the house...I miss my Connor and my husband...*sniff*!

Peanut Post: This is Watching Nascar?

I L-O-V-E IT!

Farming Boys!

Connor and Dad headed down to Mimi and Papa's house for the weekend while Mom and her friends threw a baby shower for her friend Mackenzie. Dad forgot the camera on Friday, but Connor got to ride the tractor and do some chicken coop cleaning! The kid is a country boy! On Saturday, Dad and Papa went out to do some timbering and load up the Cousin Eddie trailer with some firewood.

As usual, Papa didn't disappoint by providing some sweet smelling cherry wood and a lot of terrific food. Thanks again for the wood and the generous southern hospitality! Connor and I made it home safe to see Mom and Finn and Dad worked all day to clean up and get the wood stacked. What a weekend!

Captain's Blog: First Zoo Trip of 2011

The thermometer reached just above the 'I can't go outside or my lips will freeze' mark, so The Lauchards headed to the Columbus Zoo and had the run of the place! All the animals that usually sleep were prowling around. It was nice to get out...come on Spring!

Captain's Blog: Friday Night Hot Dogs

Continuing an age old family tradition, we had Friday night processed food night! Hot dogs over the fire and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese for dinner! MMMMMMMMM goooooooood.

Bean Bytes: This is AWESOME!

Peanut Post: Birthday Party!

I got to see my great Grandma and Grandpa while visiting Churchtown and we celebrated Grandma's birthday with homemade pizza and cake! I also finally got to see God Mommy Lane and she surprised me with some really cool Xmas presents...thanks Lane and happy birthday again Grandma!

Captain's Blog: Ice Storm Power Outtage

Winter of 2011 has so far been a big bummer! We have had snow on the ground and ice in the trees and sub-zero temperatures that make you cold by just thinking about going outside. The latest punch in the face was losing out power at about 8 o'clock on the Tuesday night of the storm.

It was reminiscent of the loss of our furnace when Connor was a baby. We all snuggled into our beds, but with temperatures dropping to 58 degrees by morning at the house, we packed up and shacked up down in Churchtown with Mimi and Papa (gracious hosts yet again).

Dad worked, Mom and Finn relaxed and Connor terrorized the neighboring counties...ah memories...

Bean Bytes: I Like to Sleep

Whether it's with my Dad or by my big brother...snoozing is AWESOME!

Elephant Men

Enough said.

Peanut Post: More Vistors...Keep 'em Coming!

Apparently cold and ice and rain and snow are not conditions that a 2 year old thrive in. So...I am stuck in this house with Mom, Dad, a screaming baby and my good friends Mattie and Mya. But I do get lonesome, so it has been a lot of fun to have visitors over...even if some of them are just here to see my brother.

Captain's Blog: My First Pie

During the visit with The Pottmeyer clan, I went on a cooking spree. Homemade carnitas, whole wheat calzones, an egg bake for breakfast...and the creme de la creme...a homemade peach pie!

Yes...the answer to your question...it is as good as it looks!

Charleston Pottmeyer Visit!

Dad is a bit behind in his postings as he flew off to San Francisco to work all of last week. Prior to his departure, The Lauchards hosted Mac, Brynn, Kristin and Alex for a weekend visit to Columbus! Connor was nothing short of ecstatic that his cousin Mac was coming to play, and she did NOT disappoint. The two little red-heads were tearing around the house like the Duke Boys in a finely tuned General Lee.

Of course, don't expect to reach them when there's a good commercial on.

The young ones...Brynn and Finn.

Excited to take pictures!

How does a baby go night-night?

Kristin and the Lauchard Boys.

Alex and 'happy' Finn.
