Week 22 and the bean is the length of a spaghetti squash. I remember when Lacey was pregnant with Connor that I used to be so clueless on what a baby was. Now I am only clueless on what a spaghetti squash is.
Since the dining room and foyer tie together, it didn't take long for the construction to start. 1/2 and 1/4 walls were removed to give way to a new framed wall that will create a doorway to the living room, a.k.a. 'The Toy Purgatory'.
Once the thermostat and doorbell were moved, framing and wiring finished.
Drywall is now up and I'm hiring out the finishing. The whole entry way needs new skim coating and patching.
The little guy continues to grow and prepare for 'Operation: Big Brother Domination'! At week 21, future Lauchard is measuring at 23 weeks. 'Slow down little doggie', says Connor or as he's known in these parts Mr. Twelve Months Waistline.
We still need baseboards and new windows, but we are close to finishing another room. I tried a new style by adding some molding to the walls. We like the way it turned out.
Since I was so good, Dad got me a surprise for after my nap on Sunday. Hot Wheels motorcycles. You put them in a wind up track, press the button and they zoom off. I LOVE them!
Turn a little Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings on...make some dough...and BOOM family night!
Saturday was a good day, did some new work on the house...fixed some mistakes previously made and then relax during a night of rain and hanging with Connor.
Connor went to his second straight St. Brendan Festival. Last year, all he could do was sit and look, but this year Connor packed up his courage and went all out!
Over the weekend while Mattie was on the mend, I took the time to begin the dining room remodel/update. It would be oh so simple if it were a coat of pain and some pictures, but the previous owner used gloss paint to cover wall paper paste seams, and drywall patches/repair. So for every room in the house, I get to cut out the drywall imperfections and skim coat them to even the walls out. The 'finished product' will be posted soon, however, until the windows get replaced, there will be the current window eyesores to deal with.
Well, we're back to comparing the upcoming baby to fruits and veggies...this week...heirloom tomato. I've also posted a comparison pic from Connor's week 19 because I'm nice. :-)
Apparently, I have been hobbling for some time due to a partially torn ACL. A few weeks ago, I tore it completely and had to have surgery yesterday. Dad came to pick me up this morning and now I'm back in the dang cage and walking on only 3 legs. PT will start soon and I hope to be back in full in a couple of months. P.S....ouch.
Grandma and Grandpa got a new trampoline and I got to go play on it on Sunday with Tanner and Riley. I don't have my footing quite yet, but I'm getting close! Thanks for letting me play!
Nan and Papa came to Columbus so that we could wish Nan a happy birthday! We had fun driving and chatting and Mom and Dad cooked up a lot of yummy food...of which I ate about none. Happy birthday again Nana!
It's been awhile, but this begins the weekly blog journey towards the birth of the new Lauchard family member. Everything is going well and we are getting very excited. Connor knows where the baby is, but hasn't grasped all of the ramifications that his brother will bring.
