Welcome Son, Brother...Finnegan Robert Lauchard

Bean Bytes: Prepping for my Imminent Arrival

Inducement was scheduled for December 29th at 5:00 a.m. Mimi and Papa came up to watch my brother Connor. I, to be honest, thought it was too cold to come out, so I was in no hurry.

First stop was some place called Tim Hortons...I got some water and some yummy chocolate milk to prepare for the move out (the employee did not want his picture taken, so he employed his ogre magic to blur everything out!

A couple of emergencies cause immediate waiting, fine reading and almost an hour delay. WAKE UP DAD!

Mom got all settled in the room...

and then....

Captain's Blog: Christmas at Home

This was our first Christmas at our house where Connor got to wake up, have breakfast and open gifts that were left from Santa Claus. This year was good to the little man. Trucks, trains, tools and more! Then we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's for some more merry Christmas cheer...Connor also scored a sweet remote control train set! Next year, little Finn will join us for all of our great Christmas fun!

Doughboys to start....

Christmas Choo Choo with Thomas and Percy

The Columbus Metro Library has a great train display during Christmas. Dad took Connor to see it, and ol' Connor was NOT disappointed. The pictures are one thing, but watch the ridiculous excitement as Connor a) tells the kid next to him that it's a choo choo and b) can't believe that it's really Thomas (Tommy).

Peanut Post: Cooking with the Neighbors

I got invited over to the neighbors to make Christmas cookies with Beth, Scott, Jack, Leah, and Erin Rose! We made lots of shapes, colors, and used a bunch of yummy toppings! Needless to say, dinner was not substantial that night.

Goin to da Snow

Heeeere Hooooorsey!

Apparently we have taken the 'I'm a horse' game to a new level. I gave Connor a bowl of blueberries this morning and he proceeded to eat them...'horsey style'.

Peanut Post: Play Date!

Eatin' banana bread with my buddy Sophie!

Peanut Post: My First Winter Storm!

I haven't been a fan of snow since I first encountered it. Luckily though, Dad showed me how to try and eat it and I find it much more fun now. Getting dressed takes what I consider to be an eternity (about 10 minutes), but I sure am warm out there!

Peanut Post: More ThanksChristmas!

Nan, Poppy, Dawn, D.J. and Dalton all came over for dinner and gifts last night. I was being a bit of a ham and moving way too fast to get too many pictures, but I did slow down for one thing. Santa swung by Nan and Poppy's early and dropped off this cool thing...Chuck the Truck! Thanks 'Santa'!

Pupdate: Baby it's Cold Outside

Last night, we got about an inch of light, fluffy, white snow. It's really nice to look at through the window, but when you have to 'do your business' at 6:30 a.m. in it, it's better to just snuggle up with a good friend.

ThanksChristmas!

We combined Thanksgiving and Christmas down in Marietta this year to get the family together and let the kids enjoy themselves. Unfortunately sickness ravaged the community and it was too dang cold to spend time outside. We still managed to eek out some good times and good food and everyone is relatively back to normal now. Thanks for hosting Mimi and Papa! And Connor says 'Thanks' to Santa, over and over again.

Captain's Blog: Merry Christmas To All My Elves!

The lights are up, and all the kids at the house are ready for some Christmas spirit! See ya soon Santa!

Outsmarted By a 2 Year Old

Scene of the Crime: Notice the little pile of Dad's tools by the barn door on the right side of the picture.

Story Setup: Last night, Dad was doing work on the rails and hangers for the doors. Connor was incessantly saying 'tools' and 'work', but we had to tell him no so that the tools didn't go everywhere. Over and over again, Connor tried to get the tools until we finally went upstairs to bed.

This Morning: Dad went out the front door to pull the plugs on the halfway done Christmas lights. When he turned around, the door was shut...the door was locked...and Connor had settled himself down to dive into the tools. Knocks and hollering didn't phase the little fella as he enjoyed taking sockets out and tossing them around. Dad ran into the garage, flew into the house and came around the corner...Connor's response? 'Hi Dada!' with a sheepish grin...dirty mouse.

Captain's Blog: Winter Warmth Preparation

Notice by the titles of the posting that it's starting to get cold in Ohio? New windows, more wood...oh yeah, Old Man Winter is a comin'! Right now, the temperature couldn't be better with upper 60's and sun, but I know better. Thanks to Ken for helping me split and load some wood, and of course, for helping me trick out my trailer! Jealous eyes were all over me on the ride back home!

Bean Bytes: Week 32...oops

Sorry little bean! We have been awfully busy and have neglected keeping up on the weekly Mrs. postings. It's definitely going to be a shock to your system when you see this picture! :-) Just keeding Lacey!
