Boy oh boy! It's a boy!

Have you heard it's a boy? Well, if not, let me tell you.....it's a boy! We've got 160 beats per minute (strong like bull) and 13 oz. Baby is healthy and by the way....it's a boy.

Rocked the Casbah!

A terrific recommendation from Jamie Barcelona! Casbah was some real good foods! Potato gnocchi, a Casbah double-cut pork chop and a couple of tasters for our anniversary. Mmmmmmm! All in all, a great few days in Pittsburgh. Good city, good people.....some strange intersections :-).

Manonga-blog-ahala

We accidentally rode up the Monongahela Incline instead of the Duquesne incline on Sunday and had a bit of a walk to dinner (about a mile). We can at least say that the walk was well worth the wait. We ate dinner at Monterey Bay Fish Grotto and it was magnificent! We started with one of the best crab cakes ever, moved to stuffed shrimp and Parmesan swordfish, and finished up with a piece of chocolate cake with rasperry/vanilla/chocolate sauce on the house as a gift for our first year anniversary. Great dinner, great service, great view!

Captain's Blog: Aaaargh...Pirates!

Pittsburgh did a great job with their stadium, it was a beautiful day to get some sun and watch some baseball. We walked in and were standing on the ramp in left field when Luis Rivas hit a home run about 30 yards away from us. While it hurts to root for the Pirates....when in Rome. Lacey is now a bonafied baseball fan!

City folks, Country ways

The Lauchards planted the annual garden tonight. I couldn't tell you everything that's in there (I was the hired help), but I think there's some cantaloupe, radish, cucumbers and more.

Finishing up Spring!

Lilacs on the East side of the house bloomed this week. The smell is great and finishes up the spring blossoms. If you don't have Lilacs, get some...they are essential for Spring!

Good morning Bean!

One week left to the halfway point! Everything is still going well and the bean has grown to the size of a large tomato. The bean is well fed by Dad :-).

Pupdate: Another weekend in the books!

Well, we're heading home and as usual, we are snuggling in for the ride. Thanks Ken and Cindy for the free run of your land (tail wagging shows thanks AND approval)!

Captain's Blog: The Compound

The wife and I with the little dudes all headed down to the Pottmeyer compound this weekend. I wanted to post some pictures I took on Saturday night. We got some wormer for the horses, and tried to keep Mattie from eating horse-pooh (ugh!).

School's Out FOREVER! (maybe)

Marietta College graduation was Saturday. Amongst the graduates were Alex Pottmeyer (Lacey's brother), and Ashleigh Pottmeyer (Lacey's cousin) who received their Petroleum Engineering degrees on Saturday.

Congratulations again guys, enjoy work.....tomorrow.

Pupdate!

Friday afternoon and we're ready for the weekend. We're going to see Mackenzie, cousin Elmo, and we get to say goodbye to cousin Lola. It's a two hour ride down to the country, so we like to hang out back here while Mom and Dad drive us around. Hope your weekend is as good as ours!

One day after Lacey's first Mother's Day, we celebrated our first anniversary! Since we've been married, we've been to Jamaica, redid our kitchen , got pregnant and more.

It's been a great year to be married and share it with our friends and families. Thanks for everyone's support!

Since I was out of town last week, we missed the week 17 photo. So.....here is week 18! Things are going really well and Lacey is taking great care of herself and the baby. Happy Mother's Day Lacey!

Pupdate: Dad's home!

Oh so thrilled that Dad came home! Mattie just finished with a 1/2 hour tennis ball session, Mya watched and tried to bite Mattie's legs on the return trips.

More springtime from Antrim Road

Upon arrival from a week in San Francisco where my friend Janel had a FABULOUS dinner (Nori crusted steak, tomato salad, leek/mushroom vegetables), I was greeted with many new blooms and full trees. These are the clematis vines that I am trying to have fully cover my trellis that blocks out the air conditioner. While there used to be red and white blooms, me thinks the red died in the heat last year...time to plant a few more!

In early January, we took the old kitchen down to the studs and removed a couple of walls. This was the last room that we had to do to "finish" the house. The total deconstruction/construction took about 3 months from start to finish. We are REALLY happy with how this turned out.

Get em up! Move em out!

Thursday was quite the night for Mattie as well. The 3rd queen of the house dealt with a nice rawhide bone. Show 'em whose boss Mats! Unfortunately, the monkey tried to intervene and was subsequently laid to rest.

Prohibition is coming! Stock up!

I've begun brewing my own beer. I'm a few batches in and as you can see here, we have about 44 beers. These 2 batches are a honey pale ale and a strawberry blonde.

In the 3 fermenter's brewing now, we have an indian pale ale, an irish red ale, and just last night I put together a nut brown ale.

Previous brews: simple wheat beer (mmmmm), simple pale ale (not bad)

I would share, but as you can see, 44 beers is a Tuesday/Wednesday for me :-), brew your own!
