Nick borrowed Eric's dehydrator and made us some fancy Elk-Jerky from the boy's trip out to Wyoming. It turned out very good, and my niece Jolie seemed to be the biggest fan by far. I think she ate a THOUSAND pieces (just kidding!)

Nicky-Pooh's a Jerky (maker)

Captain's Blog: Firewood Fun!
I have to say thanks to Ken for letting me pilfer his pile of firewood. And of course, thanks also to Jay for the trailer. It only flipped over twice, and the tail lights don't look as bad as I thought busted out (I need to get better going in reverse). The real good news is that I think the witnesses got the license plate on the trailer that backed over those two little skateboarders...let me know if you hear anything about that! I've still got a bit of unloading to do, but I was able to do most of my splitting early this morning.

Big Pine Cattle Co, (Indoor Division)
Wednesday and Thursday found Big Al, Derrick, Nicky-Pooh and Ryan down in the basement doing some slate tiling on the wall. The slate has great colors ranging from gray to green, to red. We went through a number of pennies to hold the tile up as they proved to be more sturdy than staples (sounds like a well run outfit doesn't it?).

Lacey, My Hands ARE Freeeeezin!
It wasn't one of my better ideas, but we decided to brave the cold and head down to the OSU campus for a little tail gating with some friends of ours. Needless to say, the day ended up with everyone in a different car, Michigan looking like a bad high school team, and Mattie and Mya trying to bite me for bringing them with me.

Captain's Blog: My Man is 'Strong Like Bull'
This kid has some stronf! At 6 weeks old, he's already rolled over from front to back like 3 times, has thigh muscles like a runner, pinches like an 8 year old girl, and holds his head up with some basic 'bee-bopping'....check it out!

Peanut Post: Cremeans Visit!
After a long wait...the Cremeans family came over to meet me. They were VERY nice with some gifts that had my names and nicknames embroidered on them. I just learned what embroidered means, ask me if you don't know. I met my dream girl (sorry mom) and her name is Addison. I was a bit jealous because Aiden and Addison got to pet Mia and I have yet to gain full control of my arms. Thanks again for my gifts!

Election Fun
Ken woke up Sunday morning to a nice little prank in his front yard by some oh-so-clever, yet unnamed individuals. If any of you reading this aren't aware, Ken has a mild hobby in the world of politics. Ken is most likely not in favor of Obama, but you wouldn't know that by the 30 or so Obama/Biden signs in his yard. Ken was not going to be outdone though and used this chance to make his own political statement. "In a world of Obama, there is always that 1 Maverick that stands against the masses."

Peanut Post: Cousin Avery!
I got to meet my cousin Avery this weekend. On Saturday, mom and dad loaded me up in the car again and we drove down to Charleston, West Virginia. I have no idea where that is because I was sleeping. Avery was very cool and I can't wait to hang out some more...maybe back in the country we can get our own 4-wheelers!

Gone Country: Day 3
Pupdate: Introducing 'Country'
Mia got her first taste of multi-day outdoor time...and she took advantage. When asked how she was doing........"she's gone country!"
Gone Country: Day 2
Friday morning brought a decent sleep by the little man, as well as some more work 'down on the farm'. I finally got to learn a bit about the tractor as I did some Bush-Hogging...is it an adjective, a noun, a verb???? Well, I've learned that it's a way of life...and Ken tells me I'm the quickest/best he's seen. Perhaps ol' Ken has a few more areas that need some bush hoggin and these compliments are not completely altruistic.

Gone Country: Day 1
Wednesday afternoon, we loaded up the family truckster...dogs, kid, wife, luggage, diaper bags, camera's, computers, etc., and headed down to Marietta to hang with Grandma and Grandpa Pottmeyer. Mya and Mattie enjoyed the next five days in the great weather outside (yes, Mya went country too...in fact, that is her new nickname when she goes down to Marietta. Lacey and Connor got to know each other and GMaP around the house. GPaP and Ryan had some chores...this was the first.
We headed down to the new property and removed some old fence posts and put about 7 new ones in. The ground was needless to say VERY hard so it took a bit of time, but in the end we won.
